Site maps define the navigation for your app. We can easily create site map for your app by using the tile-based site map designer. The new designer lets you drag and drop components into the designer and instantly publish the site map. Administrators and any user with the required privileges can quickly create site maps for the apps. The site map designer gives you an instant preview of how the site map will look to users, without having to save or publish it.
Enabling and working with Sitemap Designer
The site map designer also lets you define the area, subarea or group titles in the languages supported by Microsoft Dynamics 365.
By default, a site map for the Dynamics 365 – custom app is already available. You can edit this site map or configure site maps for new apps by using the site map designer. The site map designer is integrated with the app designer.
Sitemap designer can be enabled by, navigating to settingsàAdministrationàSystem settingsàpreview and select the highlighted areas as show below
To modify existing sitemap, navigate to settingsàCustomizationsàCustomize the systemsàClient extensions, select the sitemap you want to manage then click on edit
Or you can drag drop an new areas or group or sub area
App designer window allows you to add different components based on your permissions and also allows you to modify existing navigation tiles and rearrange them in your own order. And quickly publish it.
App designer also allows you to clone an existing component using action toolbar clone menu.
Dynamics CRM web application and Dynamics CRM 365 for Outlook supports sitemap for custom apps whereas for Sales, Customer, Field Service and Project Service are only supported in web application.
